Bio

Jennifer DeBoer joined the law school in 2013. She serves as the Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Academic Success.

In 1997, Dean DeBoer graduated cum laude from Hope College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science.  While in college, she participated in the Washington, D.C. Honors Semester, serving as an intern at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.  In 2000, she received a Juris Doctorate degree from Valparaiso University School of Law where she served as the Executive Editor of Student Writing for the Valparaiso University Law Review and as a legal writing teaching assistant.  In 2005, she graduated from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs with a Master of Arts degree in communication, being recognized by the faculty as the outstanding M.A. graduate in communication.

After graduating from law school, she engaged in a trial and appellate law practice in Indiana, representing clients in the areas of insurance defense, labor and employment law, civil rights litigation, collections and subrogation, and consumer class actions.  She is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Indiana and before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  Dean DeBoer has also served as the Director of Academic Support at Liberty University School of Law and has taught writing and research at two universities.
