New Student Orientation 2024

As you begin your law school career, the Law School hosts New Student Orientation to assist law students in their transition to the unparalleled academic rigors of law school.

Orientation Schedule

New Student Orientation will be held on Thursday, August 8 through Friday, August 9, 2024, on campus at Faulkner University.

All full-time schedule students are required to attend both days of New Student Orientation. Executive schedule students are encouraged to attend. The sessions will be live-streamed on the Academic Success site in Canvas for executive schedule students to view during the sessions. The sessions will also be recorded for all students to have access to at a later time.

Please register for Orientation by August 1 HERE.

To be guaranteed the requested t-shirt size, please register on or before Thursday, July 25th.

Law School Skills Course - Online Orientation Course

Beginning in July, an online orientation course will be offered called Law School Skills. Please watch your e-mail for more information about this.

This course will help you be successful in your academics and is designed to prepare you for the law school experience. We will also refer to these materials at the on-campus orientation to start the Fall 2024 semester (and the online orientation for Executive students) and throughout your first year of law school.

Although participation is optional and no academic credit toward your J.D. will be awarded for completing them, participation is strongly encouraged. The Law School Skills course is taught by an expert in law school instruction methods, and it provides invaluable training in the unique skills required for law school success, including case reading and briefing, the Socratic Method and classroom discussion, outlining, and law school exam taking. It also introduces students to the legal system and several legal topics covered in the first-year curriculum.

Whether or not you grew up talking to lawyers around the dinner table, the Law School Skills course will help get you prepared for your professional education on day one.

Housing Information

Faulkner Law does not have on-campus housing for law students. There are many outstanding apartments and neighborhoods that are a short drive from campus. We encourage you to start planning for your move today.  More information about suitable housing options may be obtained by calling the Admissions Office.
