Welcome to Faulkner Law!

The faculty, staff, and administration look forward to welcoming you to campus as you begin your law school education. 

This website will be updated throughout the spring and summer with additional information regarding Admitted Students Day, New Student Orientation, Registration, and the first week of class. Continue checking back for more details.

New Student Orientation 2026

As you begin your law school career, the Law School hosts New Student Orientation to assist law students in their transition to the unparalleled academic rigors of law school. 

New Student Orientation will be held on Wednesday, August 12 through Friday, August 14, 2026.

All full-time schedule students are required to attend New Student Orientation. Executive schedule students are encouraged to attend. The sessions will be live-streamed on the Academic Success site in Canvas for executive schedule students to view. The sessions will also be recorded for all students to have access to at a later time.

Full-Time Schedule

Wednesday, August 12 – Faulkner University

8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.: Check In – Harris Business Building

9:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Morning Sessions

11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.: Lunch (provided)

12:15 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Afternoon Sessions

 

Thursday, August 13 – Montgomery, Alabama

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Downtown Experience – The Frank M. Johnson Jr. Federal Courthouse Complex and The Heflin-Torbert Judicial Building

Lunch will be provided.

Specific details about downtown experience logistics will be provided at Orientation.

 

Friday, August 14 – Faulkner University

8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: Morning Sessions

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.: Lunch (provided) & Student Organization Fair

1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: Afternoon Sessions

4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Ice Cream Social with faculty & staff

Orientation Dress

Incoming students should plan for the following dress during Orientation:

-Wednesday, August 12: Business casual (Your student ID photo will be taken in the morning).

-Thursday, August 13: Business professional (business suit)

-Friday, August 14: Business casual (Faulkner Law Orientation t-shirt and business casual bottoms)

(Please do not wear jeans, shorts, capris, yoga pants, or leggings).

Parking Information

Faulkner University offers FREE parking to law students. All law student vehicles must be registered with the Faulkner University Police Department.

Please complete the Student Vehicle Parking Decal Form by August 1st to obtain a parking decal at Orientation Check-In.

The form asks for the category that best represents your status. All law students should select “Jones School of Law – You are enrolled in the law school.” Law students who will be living on campus should also select “Jones School of Law – You are enrolled in the law school.”
