MONTGOMERY, ALA. – The Montgomery Volunteer Lawyers Program recently recognized the 2020 Pro Bono Awards winners, which includes Beasley Allen attorney Lauren James as a member of the 2020 Pro Bono Leadership Corps. Lauren’s practice is focused primarily on medical drugs and devices. Lauren serves on the talcum powder team. Before becoming a lawyer with Beasley Allen, she was a law clerk while attending Faulkner University Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. Among many accolades during Lauren’s time at Jones School of Law she was inducted into the Jones Public Interest Society, which recognizes law students for community, public and pro bono service, and she received the Alabama State Bar’s Pro Bono Law Student Award.

In addition to Lauren’s individual achievement, Beasley Allen Law Firm was among five firms to receive the highest level of recognition, the Gold Medallion award. The Gold Medallion award is given to firms based on the number of referrals taken, the number of advice and counsel clinics attended, and the number of hours of free legal assistance rendered.

“It is rewarding in itself to work on behalf of citizens who might not otherwise have legal assistance,” said Managing Attorney Tom Methvin. “Each year we ask our attorneys to allow for time in their practice to help with cases brought to the Montgomery Volunteer Lawyers Program and each year I am amazed at the generosity of our lawyers.”
